Mutton Ghee Roast


Mutton 1kg

Ghee 6 tbsp

Ammikal Masala 4 tbsp (60g)

Jaggery 1 tsp (chopped) 



  • In a pressure cooker on medium heat add 2 tbsp ghee. 
  • Add the mutton pieces and fry for 4-5 minutes. 
  • Add ammikal masala and half a cup of water, mix well, close the lid and cook for 4-5 whistles (or till mutton is cooked). Let the pressure drop naturally in the cooker. 
  • In a separate pan heat 4 tbsp ghee and add the cooked mutton.  
  • Fry on medium-low heat for 10-15 stirring occasionally. 
  • Add a quarter cup of water and jaggery. Mix well.
  • Cook till it reduces to a thick gravy consistency.
  • Serve with neer dosa, rice or parotta.
