The name ‘Ammikal’ refers to ‘Mortar & Pestle’ (sil batta) in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The logo is a typographic adaptation of the same with the added symbolism of the ‘red bindi’ to pay respect to all the mothers that passed down the recipes and kept the magic alive.
